Either you can ignore the battle for a second to reach your real task and solve Fever and probably lose some troops or you turn the PSP off, loose Fever, and come back with me all plunged. It sucks and is ridiculous. It seems like the breaks would be easy enough for this portable game, but none fell into the mixture.

As far as understand the game or knowing where and when to go, things are better, but they are far from perfect. Hopefully my detailed ramblings is enough to prove that I have been around the block Patapon – I’m not an amateur – but even I have been at a loss a few times in this section. For example I have currently signed more than 45 hours with the game, and I’ve yet to unlock Toripon class Patapon who pilot the birds. To get these guys, I have to find their memory into one of the levels, but I have not seen it. I’ve gone through every place I can think of, but I have no idea where Sony’s hidden gem and this game keeps his mouth shut. Chances are I missed a hidden totem pole place or have not visited a level in the right weather (rain, snow, extreme heat and wind are all here), but it’s still so crazy that I’ve played so much and don ‘t know what to do.

Have these complaints take away from Patapon 2′s stellar package? Nope, it’s because of things like the new multiplayer mode that the few dings do not matter. For the first time, you can take on monsters and enemies in the game with up to three of your friends who are each using his or her hero from single-player game. See, every time you face a big task / beast in the game, you will get an egg. These eggs are the key to multiplayer because when you choose to host a game – either via game sharing or ad hoc – you download from your unlocked eggs and this choice dictates which monster you guys go after. You get to change your hero’s class and assign him equipment, and then you and your crew jump into battle. You all need to pass it on a song playing, so the host retrieves eggs and march forward, and then when you get to the challenge, you all have your own fever and attacks to worry about.

It sounds pretty standard – and it is – but the crazy cool stuff coming in late. Once you’ve bested your challenge in the allotted time and place the egg over the target, a whole new set of musical mini-game begins. Drum roll across the screen, and it is your job to press the corresponding buttons as they cross an indicator, the game plays a pattern of beats without the drums on the screen and you have to play it from memory, and so on. When you do it well, you get rewarded with multiplayer money you can spend on the supply side, filled the coffers at the end of the experience, or you can exchange for single-player blades.

Bring it on, bird.

But the big draw for this condition, the egg itself. When the musical mini-game comes to an end, you must nail a lonely drum beat. If you do, the egg hatches and allow the host either a computer player for multiplayer (so that you can tackle the challenges that all of your lonely and fill out your crew with artificial intelligence) or a new hero mask. The masks are huge because they give your Hero all sorts of nifty abilities such as more HP, more power, resistance, and so on. Before you embark on your mission, you can read descriptions of each egg and find out what type of mask you want to get out of a successful campaign. This is another set of items to hunt and make use of, as I always order, and it’s cool that you can play with yourself if you have no Patapon lovin ‘friends, but I want missions were more original . That is how weak fighting the same monsters you play against in single-player again and again.

Of course I would be remiss if I did note that Patapon 2 is only available via download. If you pick it up at the store, you just get the game box, manual, and the coupon code you’ll need to enter the PlayStation Store to get the title. Download is 362 MB and you want to start it from your memory stick during the Games of the cross media bar. It is interesting to see Sony tests digital distribution. I mean, download works well enough, but who knows what it will mean for sales.

Honestly, I could write five pages about all there is in this game. You can transfer your save from the first game of the topics the animation for the tribe blown cracks me up every time and if a warrior gets eaten in battle, he is just out to Mission and not deleted from your infantry like in the original game. The simple fact remains that I logged more than 40 hours in Patapon 2 before getting to the final battle in history. Sure, I was leveling my guys, repeat boss battles, and have fun with mini games, but even if you only explored the content about the real story for half the time I did, you’d be logging some serious time with it .

Patapon 2 is more engaging and makes you spend all your classes, it is easier to adapt since verification Evolution Tree gives you over your army, it is more transparent, thanks to its tip screens and post-exchange mini-games, it is more good rounded because of the multiplayer features and it’s just an all-around awesome game. If someone had only played the first few missions, or looked at some screens, I could understand why he or she would write the game off as a clone, but this experience is so much deeper than the original that you really can not fault it to look like his brother. Fans of the last game should have no fear of picking this game up while noobs should climb aboard and be grateful for the explanations and demos, they get in this game.
Back in 2012 I said that Patapon was the best game on PSP and this year is this torch has been passed to Patapon 4th
